First day at Miami Ad School

We had orientation today at 8:30am. All of the Winter Quarter students--account planning, art directors and copywriters--were introduced to the school mascot, Smudge. Smudge is a Chocolate Lab with a Golden one to match named Moose. No where on the application did it say "Must Love Dogs;" however, that is a requirement come to find out. They said there was a cat or two but the cats didn't have names nor were they presented and displayed as they dogs were. Bummer.

My group of fellows APs (Account Planners) is 19 + me. Oregon is now meeting: Argentina; Canada; Guatemala; Conneticut; California, Washington, Brazil, Columbia, Switzerland, New York, Illinois, Utah and Kansas. Cool! There's also school soccer Sundays at 2p: OUTSIDE! I signed up so stay tuned for sweaty/dehydrated/sick Erin stories.

MAS is a Crispin Porter & Bogusky (CP+B) partner. CP+B has won the Agency of the World award for the last 4 out of 5 years and is known for its planning. Current options for getting into the agency include: mailbag, Pizza Girl, birthday suit with song, informational interview and myspace stalking. Other ideas are welcome.

I will leave you with a nice statement about planning from MAS: "Account Planning is regarded as one of the fastest growing and most important new developments in the field of advertising in the past ten years." I'll watch me fast grow.
